I have also referred to these Projects as Grass Roots Projects and they are intended to have a bottom up source and not to be organized using conventional planning. This is not conventional humanitarian aid. This is assisted self-help and those who received help will in turn help others. The Open Source members have all benefited from free access to Sola Roof and participating in our community means that members will Pay It Forward. These projects are a manifestation of that intention to put something back into the community - a hand up to those without means build a DIY Food project due to poverty or disaster. This is also a beginning of the emergence of the Gift Economy.
